Introduction
The workshop leader will present an introduction to Victorian Britain and the British Empire, delivering an engaging assembly for the children.

Workshop Activities
- The Victorian Classroom: The workshop leader will conduct a lesson, demonstrating what schooling was like in Victorian times. Strict discipline and attentive behaviour are a must to avoid punishment!
- Life in Victorian Britain: This session shifts focus from well-known figures of the era to the lives of ordinary Victorians. The workshop leader provides an insightful look into how people lived and worked during this time.
- Victorian Choices: With an interactive PowerPoint, children travel back in time to become members of parliament (MPs). They will debate and vote on key issues of the era, aiming to make decisions that benefit various social classes.
- Toys of the Victorian Age: Children will explore and investigate a variety of toys from the Victorian period—perhaps even get hands-on with them!
- Archaeological Dig: In trays of soil, children will uncover real artefacts. They will identify what the items are, their purpose, and whether they date back to the Victorian era.

Final Review
After an action-packed day, the children will unwind and reflect on their experiences. They’ll discuss whether they’d have liked living in Victorian times, compare life then to now, and explore which differences they’d find most challenging or intriguing. This reflection helps them thoughtfully connect the past with their present.
