Workshop Options
Whole Key Stage 2 Workshops
This option allows large groups of pupils to learn the basics of playing the guitar in a fun, structured and inclusive session. Each one-hour workshop provides an engaging introduction to guitar playing without significantly impacting normal class time and can be delivered directly in the classroom.
One Class for a Full Day (Including Performance)
Ideal for pupils in Years 3–6.
The class will learn to play several songs, explore basic music theory, and work towards a full-class performance at the end of the day. Parents may attend at the school’s discretion.
This option creates a real sense of achievement and is perfect for enrichment days, reward days or curriculum focus days.
Two Classes – Half a Day Each
Two separate classes each receive an extended workshop session.
Each class will learn several songs and explore fundamental music theory concepts. Pupils typically achieve a strong guitar sound very quickly, making the workshops fully inclusive for all abilities — with no prior experience or long-term practice required.
What pupils learn
• How sound is created through vibration
• How pitch changes with string tension and length
• How volume and resonance affect tone
• How rhythm links to timing and frequency
• How science and music connect in real time
• How to apply teamwork while exploring scientific ideas
