Hands-on Polymers/Slime Workshop

Get messy and scientific with our Polymers/Slime Workshop! Children and adults will create their own slime, exploring polymers, chemical reactions, viscosity, and states of matter. The workshop links directly to the National Curriculum, covering materials, reversible and irreversible changes, and the properties of everyday substances. Activities encourage observation, prediction, discussion, and recording results, helping participants develop key scientific skills. Fully adaptable for SEND, the session offers sensory-friendly options, small group support, and step-by-step guidance, making it accessible for all. Polymers
Children and adults will explore chemical reactions and the properties of polymers, creating slime to understand viscosity, states of matter, and reversible/irreversible changes. Activities encourage observation, prediction, recording results, discussion, and hands-on engagement.
Curriculum Links: Links to KS1 & KS2 science: states of matter, materials and their properties, and reversible/irreversible changes. Supports working scientifically skills: observing, predicting, recording, and communicating findings. Fully adaptable for SEND children and adults.

We can accommodate up to 32 children per class.

Full Day of Workshops: £625

Includes up to 5 separate 50-minute workshops.
Our most popular option for a full school day of science fun!
We can accommodate up to 32 children per class.

Choose from exciting workshops including States of Matter with Dry Ice, DNA Modelling & Extraction, Polymers (Slime), Exothermic/Endothermic Reactions (Elephant’s Toothpaste, Pop Rockets, Fire Demonstrations), Bath Bombs, George’s Marvellous Medicine theme, Lego Wind Energy (powering cars), and Greenhouse Gases & Climate Science. Our planetarium shows immerse pupils in topics like Solar System Explorers, Our Changing Climate, and The Apollo Missions. Suitable for EYFS–KS4, we handle everything including setup, delivery, and clean-down, saving you time while making science unforgettable.

Requirements

To ensure a safe and successful workshop, we require the following from your school:

A standard classroom or school hall with tables (without chairs).
Access to a sink and mains power socket.
Set up time: 30 minutes before the first session.
Reset time: 10 minutes between each session to prepare for the next group.
Health and safety: For sessions involving pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), please ensure a carer is present to assist as needed.

Please note that a room with a carpet is not suitable for this workshop due to safety and to prevent damage.
