Introduction
The workshop kicks off with a visit from a Royal Greek Guard! Dressed in full armour, the leader shares their journey from hoplite soldier to royal protector, and reveals what life was like between the rival city-states of Athens and Sparta.

Workshop Activities
Battle Formation and Tactics: A true highlight of the day—each child is equipped with their own spear and shield to take part in this exciting session. They’ll learn about legendary Greek battle tactics, including the powerful phalanx formation, and discover how these strategies helped the Greeks expand their empire.
Greek Board Games: Children will play on beautifully handcrafted wooden board games, designed to reflect those enjoyed by the Ancient Greeks over 2,000 years ago. A fun way to explore Greek leisure!
Greek Scribe: In this hands-on activity, children become scribes, writing in Ancient Greek using traditional reed pens and ink on real papyrus—just as it was done in ancient times.
City Management: In this interactive PowerPoint-based game, pupils take on the role of Athenian city councillors during the Peloponnesian War. Faced with real historical dilemmas, they must make key decisions that will lead to either victory or failure—depending on their leadership skills!
