K-Pop dance styles
K-pop means 'Korean Popular Music', but it has developed into a general term for music and dance. It's a combination of Eastern and Western music.
Korean music in the 1940's started to change shape, when North and South Korea went their separate ways. More Western music influences started to filter through, created this exciting new music genre.
It's hugely popular in the UK at the moment, especially with the release of the film 'K-pop Demon Hunters'!
The training for K-pop dancers and singers is so high, they are truely mega stars.
The dance style is polished, funky choreography, set to high tempo music. Which makes it a really popular dance style for students of all ages and genders.
K-pop dance style fuses lots of different dance styles:
Hip Hop
Street
Breakdance
Locking and popping
