Inspiring every child to invent, build, and shape the future
Bring STEM to Life in Your Classroom
Inspire curiosity and creativity in EYFS–KS2 with our expert-led, hands-on STEM workshops. Covering engineering, inventing, coding, and more, our sessions spark excitement while reinforcing core curriculum concepts.
Our workshops are:
- Curriculum-linked – designed to strengthen pupils’ understanding of STEM in fun, practical ways.
- Impactful across the curriculum – research shows that taking part in engineering activities can boost attainment in every subject.
- Expert led – delivered by qualified and experienced primary teachers who connect learning directly to the curriculum.
- Hassle-free – we bring everything with us, whether in-person or online. Booking is quick and simple, and prep time is minimal.
- Flexible – choose from in-person sessions, live virtual workshops, or cost-effective pre-recorded options.
Engineering & Structures For EYFS, KS1 & KS2, online or in-person
These workshops can also be linked to the 2026 theme 'Curiosity...what's your question?'
We learn about some of the world's best-known structures and the engineers who designed them.
We then use engineering principles to complete hands-on challenges that get us building structures like towers and bridges.
EYFS: This workshop gives the opportunity to explore bridges as we learn about making a sturdy and strong beam bridge in three different ways with different simple resources.
This workshop is linked to engineering and building bridges giving you all the teaching and planning to try out simple and exciting activities in your own setting.
"The activities were all so easy to set up in the classroom and outdoors and we had lots of fun building bridges for days!"
KS1: This workshop focuses on structures as we learn about how engineers have solved problems to make towers taller and bridges longer over time.
Children take part in a hands-on tower building challenge and an extended bridge building challenge as they think like engineers to save the day for characters in well-known story.
"The activities were really hands on, engaging and fun. It gave all students an opportunity to get involved."
KS2: This workshop is perfect for your KS2 pupils to learn about engineering, the impact of engineering and to take part in hands-on engineering activities.
The workshop focuses on structures and in particular towers. Pupils learn about how engineers have had to problem solve to adapt to a growing population and the advancement in buildings over time and then apply the concepts to two hands-on engineering challenges.
"The children were completely engaged in the workshop and had the best time creating their structures in small groups with the resources provided to them. A few children commented on the day using words such as 'inspiring' which was really great to hear."

The workshop will take around 60-90 minutes in total.
For just £99* you can use the workshop with as many KS1 classes as you like for one whole school year on your own schedule.
Please be aware that for this workshop you will need to source some simple materials in advance such as paper cups, pipecleaners and googly eyes. We estimate the total materials costs for running this workshop with one class of 30 pupils would be less than £15, with each additional class costing significantly less than this.
* Discounts are available when purchasing more than one workshop at the same time, for small schools or when you will use the workshop with a single class.
For information on discounts or if you want to get a taste first or have any questions email laura@inventorsandmakers.com
- Assemblies are also available to support the workshops.
- Teachers CPD including Engineering in the Classroom, using micro:bits, Crumbles and AI.
