Healthy Workshops
Workshops in this category include: Healthy Eating, Massage in School Workshops, Yoga, Tai Chi, Wellbeing and Mindfulness.
These workshops offer pupils a chance to experience the delights of yoga and relaxation. Classes are designed to stimulate pupils' powers of imagination, maintain their natural flexibility and teach them to breathe correctly. Some of the overall benefits to them are improved concentration levels, better sleep patterns, greater self- esteem and a stronger immune system.
Packages for Foundation and Key Stage One
Yoga for this age range is great for creative thinking. Pupils are led through creative stories and exciting adventures that stimulate their imagination and help to maintain their natural flexibility. Whilst enjoying a variety of safe postures, they sing songs, play games and work together. Stimulus includes music, songs rhymes, puppets and the child's natural curiosity and ideas to develop the story. Stories are based around planning and topic themes and involve a wonderful combination of stretches, back arches, twists and balances. These combine to support and strengthen pupils, not only physically but also mentally.


Visual & Expressive Arts
Expressive Arts covers the teaching and learning of the full range of creative subjects and experiences. These include: Dance, Drama, Storytelling, Music, Art & DT and Arts in Residence.


Science Workshops
Construct and Roll
This activity begins with a discussion of the energy powering a clockwork torch, pupils continue on to make elastic band toy and investigate the factors affecting their working. Children use junior hacksaws.

Solar
This workshop gives children an opportunity to investigate solar cells, and how the amount of electricity the cells produce from light changes when different factors are varied, including the use of different components in circuits and different numbers of cells. A solar powered zoetrope is used to simulate discussion about measuring the effect of a cell in different conditions.
Y3-Y8 Space: classroom and outdoors (weather permitting). Lamps used in bad weather. Time: about 60 –75 minutes.
Electricity
A series of investigations that cover aspects of electrical circuits and conductivity. Foundation- Year 2 Space: hall Time: about 75 minutes
Toys
Children investigate a variety of toys to investigate how they work. Concepts covered include pushing pulling and twisting.


History Workshops
Workshops in this category include Dinosaurs, Ice Age, Stone Age, Romans, Greek Myths and Legends, Egyptian, Normans Vikings, Victorians, Tudors/Great Fire of London, World War 1 (WW1) and World War 2 (WW2) and Shakespeare.
