Steve Hill MBE is an award-winning teacher, adventurer, charity founder and bestselling author of What's Next Sir? For more than a decade, he has combined his life in the classroom with expeditions spanning Arctic ice, Amazon jungle, Saharan sand and Himalayan trails.

Through his inspirational corporate talks and keynote presentations, Steve shows audiences how self-belief, hard work and refusing to give up can help them achieve more than they think possible.

Using striking photography and video, Steve shares the realities behind his adventures, including fear, fatigue and self-doubt. Steve takes audiences with him on his expeditions, from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and Mont Blanc to crossing frozen lakes in the Arctic. Every story comes with a message: if he can do it, so can you!

Steve's achievements include:

  • Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon, Everest Base Camp trek and the North Pole Marathon
  • The 230km Amazon Jungle Ultra and the 230km Arctic Ice Ultra, both self-supported
  • The Great Norse Run, 380km across Iceland (nine marathons in nine days)
  • Fourteen consecutive marathons across Costa Rica and Tajikistan
  • The Uganda Marathon five times, the first person to complete it that often
  • Climbs of Mount Elbrus, Mount Toubkal and Mount Kinabalu, and a 200-mile Sahara trek

Duke of Edinburgh's Award Ambassador

As an ambassador for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Steve has been invited to St James's Palace, Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Holyroodhouse to present Gold Awards and share his story with the young people receiving them.

Awards, Recognition and Charity work

Steve was awarded an MBE for services to education and charity. His other honours include a National Teaching Award, Inspirational Teacher of the Year and Adventurer of the Year, and he has been named on a list of the Top 10 Most Inspiring Explorers.
