Shakespeare Interactive School Workshops

Workshops and Performance Project Weeks

Every Primary/Special School Discovery Workshop or Performance Project Week is an all-round, all inclusive, interactive learning experience. At FINDING THE WILL there is never a wrong answer, just an interesting idea. "This is the third time we have hosted ‘Finding the Will’ at our school, and I can only praise the whole package. Two dedicated, approachable, friendly leads who capture the children’s imagination and attention." St Mary's CPS, Hornchurch

Format

Primary: 2 sessions x 2 hrs
(60 participants per session)

Age Groups

Y1 - Y7, Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Shakespeare Project Week

The children require no prior knowledge of the play. On Day One we take the children through the play using our interactive workshop. During the course of the week, we have two sessions with each class working on their particular section of the play and then bring it all together as a performance on the Friday. We provide a script & soundtrack.

Shakespeare Interactive Workshops

Primary School / Special School – 2 hour workshop. Children require no prior knowledge of the play, in fact we actively encourage teachers not to reveal the story before we arrive. Using minimal props/costumes the children act out the story and speak some of the original text. For children that feel more comfortable answering questions than performing, ample opportunity is given for them to shine.

Testimonials

It has saved us a lot of time with regard to teaching. Children are completely immersed in the plays, so we’ve been able to dive in and get started right away.

Year 6 Teacher, Warwick Road Primary, Batley, Yorkshire

Thank you for sharing your love and passion for Shakespeare – the children really enjoyed your workshop as did the adults!

Year 6 Teacher, Ann Edwards Primary, South Cerney, Glos

The children have been truly enthused & energised with Shakespeare once again so thank you so much. We will definitely be snapping up another date in 2025!!!

Tom Minchin, Deputy Head, St Catherine of Siena, Birmingham

All pupils were engaged and felt listened to & included. Children who find other learning challenging were hanging on your every word!

Kirstie Orton, Year 4 Teacher, St Michael's Primary, Chelmsford

The mixture of professional acting, child involvement and explanation is the perfect way to introduce Shakespeare to our Year 6’s.
