Book a True Pro
I am massively experienced and hugely reliable. As a professional Artist in Education for thirty years, I've worked with thousands of children worldwide, in hundreds of schools and nurseries. My sessions are perfectly pitched and age appropriate. I have full DBS and public liability insurance and always arrive with a smile!
Fully Interactive Fun-Filled Sessions
My sessions are high energy and very interactive. For the little ones I use puppets, props, music, songs and plenty of action rhymes. I also send a teaching video in advance so the children can confidently join in with a longer song.
For the older children, I use music, props and slides. I always like to find time for Q & A.
For teens, I find riddles + lateral thinking + spooky stories = a winning combination!
Creative Writing Workshops
I have plenty of workshops to choose from, for Reception - Year 9. Please ask me for a full list!
The list includes cinematic writing, how to be better at writing, creating imaginary worlds, how to begin a story, the shape of stories, a workshop on the theme of the Arthurian quest, abstract writing, spinning stories from objects and a fascinating D & T session about book design and publication (suitable for Yr 6 to adult)
Meet the Author Sessions
Meeting a real author can be a transformative experience for some children. My Meet the Author sessions are VERY lively and contain a bit of everything: my story - how I began in the backsteets of Liverpool, worked hard & suffered failures, but pushed through to become an international performer; writing tips and advice; a book extract; Q & A; promoting the power and magic of reading. Sometimes I use slides.
