Egyptian Fashion School Workshops

The importance and meaning of personal attire, cosmetics and perfume to Ancient Egyptians

In this workshop children learn about Egyptian fashion and beauty. We look at photos, two children dress up with clothes, jewellery, and wigs, and everyone tries some Egyptian perfume. There are two art sessions - in the morning children make a necklace, bracelet or mirror, and in the afternoon everyone makes a collar.

Making jewellery

Children spend much of the day doing arts and crafts, with high quality resources and instructions. They make Egyptian necklaces, collars, mirrors and bracelets. These hands-on activities make the day fun and hghly educational

Day Itinerary*

Learn about Egyptian fashion

Look at photos of Egyptian tomb paintings and items of clothing, cosmetics, jewellery, make up and wigs. Quiz with prizes - guess what the beauty-related item is.
Two children dress up as Egyptians with clothes, jewllery, make up and wigs. All children try Egyptian perfumes.
Children make Egyptian items including mirrors, necklaces with amulets, and Tutankhamun's scarab bracelet. Items are painted with acrylic to make them look like the stones and gold used by the Egyptians.
Children make Egyptian collars, using card templates, pasta, glue, and acrylic paint.
