Creative Contemporary Dance Workshops for Schools – Inspire Learning Through Movement

Our Contemporary dance workshops offer a creative way to engage KS1, KS2, GCSE, and A-Level students. Workshops can be tailored to any theme or subject. Students can learn a pre-choreographed dance or create their own, promoting creativity and physical expression.

Dance Techniques

Each of our teachers offers their own distinct approach to contemporary dance. If you have a specific style in mind, like Graham or Cunningham technique, just let us know.

Inspiration and Ideas

Contemporary dance offers a unique and imaginative way to explore various subjects from the national curriculum. For instance, you might delve into the tale of King Midas to enrich a History lesson, explore the Solar System in Science, or create an energetic routine centered around the Olympics.

We can also bring poetry to life or draw inspiration from classical music for your dance projects. Our workshops are designed to align with your specific themes, and you can read about a successful Fire and Ice-themed day we conducted in schools on our blog.

Inspiration for choreography can come from numerous sources, including music, literature, or visual art. Whether you prefer a pre-prepared routine or want to collaborate with your students to create their own piece, our Contemporary dance workshops are adaptable to your needs.

Customised Themes

Please share the theme you’re exploring and the age group of the children, and we will craft a unique dance just for you. Additionally, we offer Contemporary dance workshops that emphasize lifts or contact improvisation, suitable for Key Stage 2 students and older.

Day Itinerary*

Half Day Workshops

We offer half day workshops which last 2.5hrs and you can choose to have it in the morning or afternoon. You can have lots of different workshops within this time.

Full Day Workshops

We offer full day workshops which are from 9am till 3.15pm. You can have lots of different workshops within this time, it is up to the school to do the timetable. We require a 10min break in the morning, and an hour's lunch break.

* The activities may vary on the day depending on the length of the sessions and the age and ability of the participants.

Cost

Half day workshops from £250.00 plus travel

Full day workshops from £380.00 plus travel

The travel costs will be added if you are outside London. They are calculated depending on your school's location and we will find the cheapest option for you.

We take up to 30 students per workshop. If you have more than that taking part that is fine, we would just need to provide multiple dance teachers for your workshops.
