This play-based workshop, specifically designed for Key Stage 1, gives young people the opportunity to investigate robotics through play, while also linking to various elements of the curriculum. The workshop begins with a short introduction where young people are introduced to key vocabulary, and coding is then explained with the use of real life situations. Young people are then challenged to put this learning into action, and work in small teams using a Blue-Bot robot to complete a series of fun challenges at a range of mats. Each challenge is linked to a particular topic for example finance, storytelling and spelling, and are all tailored for the year group in question, with the difficulty and level of instruction adapted accordingly.
