Our KS1 Pirate Day is the perfect hook for your Pirate Topic. Pirate Day is an exciting, fun educational experience for younger children. It includes: Learning about pirates, pirate facts and pirate life. Watching an exciting pirate puppet show. Making a pirate puppet. Pirate Day is an extremely exciting experience which will have the children fully engaged for the entire day. Rascally Ron (aka Pirate Ron ) is very silly and you can be sure the children will soon be be laughing and joining in. Most importantly, they are learning whilst also having a great time. Pirate Day is lots of fun with lots of learning too!

Learning about pirates

An exciting, interactive talk with lots of fun and lots of facts covering the history of pirates, pirate ships and pirate life. Children are encouraged to ask questions.

Pirate puppet show

Younger children find our fantastic pirate puppet show incredibly exciting. They will be engaged and joining in from start to finish. First performed in 2009 this show continues to entertain and delight children without fail. It is an absolute must for any pirate day and the perfect way to inspire the children.

Making a pirate puppet

In the afternoon all of the children get to make their very own pirate puppet. The session begins with an entertaining demonstration which is almost another show. The children are taken step by step through the process and then work under the suprevision of their teachers to make their own creations. The puppet is very simple and is accessible to all abilities. There is scope for the more able children to be really creative but everyone will end up with a puppet at the end of the session.

Jolly Good Workshops For Schools Ltd is based in Richmond, North Yorkshire. It was founded in 2005 by Ron Wood specifically to deliver workshops in primary schools. Our motto is “Helping To Make Learning Fun”. Ron has visited over a thousand schools in England catering for groups of all sizes. He has received many wonderful reviews from teachers and some schools regularly rebook Our aim is to provide a reliable and professional service ensuring our workshops are: Well organized. Accessible to all levels of aptitude and ability. Age appropriate. Entertaining. Inspiring. Memorable And that they include good quality educational content.

We usually work in the school hall in the morning and classrooms in the afternoon. If only one class is participating it is possible to work in a large classroom or other similar space. Some schools prefer to use the hall all day. We are flexible and can adapt to fit in with whatever works best for the school as long as we are indoors.
