Rockets (Part 2) School Club Activities

Learn the science behind rockets by building an air pressure rocket.

During Part 2 of this club activity, the children will build elastic powered rockets. These can fly a long distance and will enhance their knowledge of Forces and Motion.

  • Once set up in the morning, we prefer to stay in the same classroom/s to run all of the sessions for the workshops. It allows us to run the sessions smoothly without any interruptions. 
  • The classroom/hall/venue must have desks and chairs for all students. Normal classrooms are fine.
  • An outdoor or indoor open space, such as a hall or school playground, is required for the final 15 minutes to launch the rockets after they have been made.
  • Preferable: A computer/laptop with projector/interactive whiteboard or smart screen with sound enabled.
