Learning the skill of resilience
Andrew “Patto” Patterson – Inspirational Speaker & Resilience Expert
Resilience isn’t something you have. It’s a skill you can build.
What happens when life doesn’t go to plan? How do we respond when faced with pressure, uncertainty, disappointment or challenges we never expected?
Through humour, honesty, powerful storytelling and extraordinary lived experience, Andrew “Patto” Patterson delivers engaging, thought-provoking and inspirational sessions that challenge audiences to rethink resilience.
A former international sportsman, professional cricketer and teacher, Patto’s life changed dramatically following a diagnosis of Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia, a neurological condition that has resulted in him becoming a wheelchair user. Rather than simply talking about resilience, he has had to live it, learning first-hand how to adapt, find purpose and keep moving forward when the future looks very different from the one imagined.
His central message is simple: resilience is not a personality trait or something we’re born with. It’s a skill we can all develop.
Using his practical framework of Perspective, Response and Purpose, Patto equips audiences with tools to manage setbacks, handle pressure, embrace change and take greater ownership of their responses.
