Tudor (Court of Henry VIII) Workshops for Schools

Provided by The Drama Hut

Meet Margery Horsman, a Tudor maid who knows all the secrets of Henry VIII’s royal court!

Meet 'Margery Horsman', a Maid of Honour in the Royal Household of King Henry VIII. Reimagine what living during the Tudor period was like and through her, learn about 'Court Etiquette'. She will challenge you to work as a team to create images from the time, explore political beliefs and consequences in the form of crime and punishment and learn a traditional ‘Pavane’ dance often performed in Henry VIII’s court. The workshop wouldn't be complete without a closer look at the famous six wives of Henry VIII and through performance and poetry, they will celebrate the roles they played during the life of this most famous monarch.

Testimonials

"The children absolutely loved the actor and found the whole workshop engaging and fun. The children were engaged with the freeze frame activities and loved that the actor came in to music and in full character. The staff were incredibly impressed with her professionalism and politeness. We would recommend her again anytime."
