African Drumming Workshops

FabDrumming workshops are funky, inclusive, musical fun and suitable for all ages and abilities, absolutely no experience is necessary. Every pupil gets his or her own djembe drum to play. As a warm-up fun-based we play 'ice-breaking' rhythm games. I then move on to the next stage where the pupils have ample opportunity to express themselves. The little ones discover different sounds and learn basic music skills. I can add storytelling, singing and dancing to the workshop. As they get older I go a step further. Playing simple interlocking parts that soon become musical, the whole sound will be powerful, resonant and much greater than the sum of the parts.

Testimonials

Thank you so, so much for the brilliant workshop yesterday. The children were absolutely buzzing afterwards! They really enjoyed it and it gives me plenty to follow up on in class too.

About This Provider (FabDrumming)
African Drumming Workshop

Children love banging on drums, playing rhythms and making music. It is a great way to blow off steam and is a great team building exercise. Drumming encourages socialization, self-expression, communication, and motor development. African dancing or South African gumboot dancing is another way to create joyful memories. We work with children of different ages and abilities: nursery-, primary- and secondary school children and children with special needs. Our educational drum workshops are about percussion and rhythm, teamwork, discipline, listening skills, building self-confidence and having fun!
